LAHZA ("LAHZA", "we", "us") runs the LAHZA app, which lets people in Egypt find and book salons, barbers, nail studios and spas, and LAHZA Business, the booking system those salons use. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020).
1. Data we collect
If you book as a guest or create an account in the app:
- Your name, email address and mobile phone number.
- Your booking details: salon, service, specialist, date, time, price and booking status.
- If you create an account: your password (stored encrypted; we can never see it) and the date you joined.
- Preferences you choose, such as language, area and favourite salons. Most of these stay on your phone.
- Your location, only if you allow it. It is used on your phone to show salons near you and is not stored on our servers.
If you use LAHZA Business for your salon:
- Your account email and the salon information you add (branches, opening hours, services, prices, photos and texts).
- Your team members' names, titles, working hours and days off.
- Records of the bookings made at your salon and how they were paid (amount, tip and payment method).
We do not collect payment card details. Clients always pay the salon directly; LAHZA does not process those payments.
2. How we use your data
- To create and manage your bookings and your account.
- To send the salon you booked the details it needs to serve you.
- To send you messages about your bookings, such as confirmations, reminders or changes, by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
- To let you reset your password and keep your account secure.
- To answer your questions and support requests.
- To understand how LAHZA is used and improve it, using aggregated information where possible.
- To meet our legal obligations and prevent fraud or misuse.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who we share it with
- The salon you book. It receives your name, phone number, email (if given) and booking details. The salon uses this information to provide the service and must not use it for anything unrelated to your bookings.
- Service providers that run LAHZA for us, under contracts that protect your data: Supabase (database and accounts), Vercel (website hosting) and, when enabled, our email, SMS and WhatsApp messaging providers.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Some of these providers store data on servers outside Egypt. When that happens we take steps to keep your data protected to the standard required by Egyptian law.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your account and personal details. Your upcoming bookings are cancelled. Salons keep a record of past visits for their accounting, but with your name, email and phone number removed. Guest bookings are kept as long as the salon needs them to manage its records.
5. Your rights and choices
- See and correct your details at any time in the app (Profile → Personal Information).
- Delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete Account).
- Turn location access on or off in your phone's settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it or to stop a particular use, by writing to support@lahza.org.
6. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, encrypted passwords, access controls so each salon only sees its own bookings, and secure storage of your login on your phone. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
7. Children
LAHZA is not intended for children under 16. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian should make bookings for you.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as LAHZA grows. If the changes are important, we will tell you in the app or by email. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
